Music

When I was in the 3rd grade, I joined the school Chorus, and had a blast. Later I joined the band and learned the Clarinet, and I’ve been playing it ever since. I was in Marching Band all throughout High School, where I learned to play the Bass Clarinet and Fife. Currently, I play Clarinet, Tin Whistle, Fife, and Irish Flute (a six-holed variation of a regular flute).

So what do I do with all this talent? I busk! (No, not that, dirty mind you!) Busking is performing in public, whether it’s on the street, or, in my case, on the Subway. I sometimes play solo, but lately I’ve been playing along with the Meetles, a Beatles Tribute Band (never say Cover Band) that plays in the subway, usually at either 42nd street or Penn Station. Of course, there aren’t many Beatles’ songs that have woodwinds in them, so I get to sing along and have a lot of fun. (I’ve even been put on the tambourine a few times, but that’s still a work in progress.)
